ACCA Eligibility — Who Can Register?

ACCA is one of the most accessible global finance qualifications. You can start as early as after 12th class. Here's everything about eligibility and exemptions.


Eligibility After 12th

You can register for ACCA right after 12th if you meet these criteria:

  • Stream: Commerce or Science (with Maths/Accounts)
  • Marks: 65% in Maths/Accounts AND 50% overall in best 5 subjects
  • Age: No minimum age requirement

You'll start from Level 1 (Applied Knowledge) — all 13 papers.


Eligibility After B.Com

B.Com graduates are eligible with up to 5 exemptions:

This means B.Com graduates can skip 5 papers and start directly from Applied Skills level — saving 1-2 years.

With 9 exemptions, you only need 4 more papers (all Strategic Professional) to complete ACCA. This can be done in 6-12 months.


Eligibility After MBA / M.Com

  • MBA (Finance) — Typically 2-5 exemptions depending on university
  • M.Com — Similar to B.Com exemptions (3-5 papers)
  • Each university is evaluated separately by ACCA

Eligibility for Working Professionals

ACCA is designed for working professionals:

  • No age limit — You can start at any age
  • Flexible schedule — Study online, 4 exam windows per year
  • Part-time friendly — No mandatory full-time articleship during study
  • PER can be done alongside work — Your current finance job may qualify
